Quickbooks not allowing create PDF and send to email
Go to your Printer and Faxes in your Control Panel for Windows. Find the Quickbooks PDF Creator and open the printer properties. Under the ports tab, see if you have a port named NUL:, if so select it. If not, choose to add a local printer, select the option to create a new port. Select Local Port for the type of port and click next. Enter NUL: for the port name. Be sure to include the colon. Click OK. In my case the NUL: port was being used by send to One Note, but I just moved that to lpt2. Go back into QB and try sending a invoice out. Continue reading →

Itunes resource hog | AppleMobileDeviceService.exe high cpu utilization
After the recent iTunes update (10.5) a client called becuase of their computer seemed extremely slow. When I arrived on site, I noticed
AppleMobileDeviceService.exe was using 50% of the CPU and iTunes the other 50%
netsh winsock reset from a command prompt (as Administrator) followed by a reboot. I have used this command in the past to fix internet connection issues, the funny thing is, only iTunes was having a problem, interent worked fine when iTunes was closed.

Turn off IE preview in Windows 7
Just go to Tools > Internet Options (in the upper right-hand corner of the browser) and then click on the “Settings” button in the window that pops up. In the list of Tabbed Browsing Settings, uncheck “Show previews for individual tabs in the taskbar.” Click on OK and you should be good to go. Continue reading →
